BIRD WATCHING

Nieuw Land National Park is an area rich in food. The ponds, reed beds and wet grasslands form a perfect place for birds to live. They build their nests here and raise their young. In gullies, ditches and pools thrive sticklebacks, frogs and large water insects. So it’s not surprising that this area is the preferred hunting ground for the great egret, grey heron, Eurasian spoonbill and bittern. 

Nederland krijgt er een nieuwe eilandengroep bij: Marker Wadden. In het Markermeer verrijst een archipel van natuureilanden. Marker Wadden zorgt ervoor dat de natuur in het gebied weer opleeft. Hier ontstaat een natuurparadijs voor vogels, vissen en mensen.
